Kitchen of the week, think “Copper Ceiling Pendants”

When I saw this kitchen the first thing that caught my eye were the ceiling pendants.  Designed by Tom Dixon they are actually made of a type of plastic with a metalised copper mirror finish, which are available here.  This kitchen gives me the impression that it’s been lived-in by two owners with two completely different tastes where the second one added the warm side to it.  Everything from the island, which can also work as a separator and as an occasional buffet table, to the copper ceiling pendants and the Herman Miller molded plastic side chairs could have been the clever touch to jazz up this open, no-upper-cabinet kitchen.

I seriously considered those lights for my kitchen but thought they were going too much away from the existing style but I still love them – part of me would like a 70's style Tamara Mellon pad to hang them in.

I have this image saved in my files, Julie. The copper pendants make quite a statement. Hope you have a wonderful week! xoxo

The first thing I noticed before you mentioned it in the post is the way the kitchen has no-upper-cabinets. Haven't seen a design like it for a while and it really helps to give the feeling that the room is bigger than it actually is. Really like the copper ceiling pendants, as well as some of the other home accessories that they have dotted around.

    Hi Julie,

I, like many other readers, really like the copper pendants used, as they give the room a 'centrepiece' to work around. However, im not the biggest fan of the chairs as I don't like how they are incorporating white and black, as well as exposing the wooden legs.
