2 Exciting Fashion Collaboration to look forward to this Spring

Aquazzura x De Gournay Collaboration
If this is not the most clever collaboration, then I don't know what is.  Two of the things women love the most, anything that resembles flowers and shoes come together this spring in Aquazzura for De Gournay participation.  The announcement came in the middle of Paris Fashion Week with a celebration given at the coveted wallpaper showroom in Saint-Germain.  Edgardo Osorio had previously collaborated with De Gournay on a pink wallpaper inspired on the designer's love of Ottoman history.  The wallpaper can be purchased as well as customized.  The exclusive shoe collection will be available through Matches Fashion sometime this May.
Dian von Furstenberg Wrap Dress Gets Rivived by Jonathan Saunders
After taking the position of Chief Creative Officer at Dian von Furstenberg last year, Jonathan Saunders is putting his love for color and pattern on the iconic wrap dress this Spring.  According to Vogue the dress has been reinvented by turning the volume of graphic and floral patters in intense hue.  All in homage to what the label has always symbolized, but with a few modern changes, such as slightly camouflaging the diagonal closure by the use of color blocking.

Joseph Dirand Latest Project

If I was not a designer, Joseph Dirand would be the one designer who I would give complete authority to do my home.  But of course I don't own an apartment in a 19th-century Haussmannian building on Avenue Montaigne, nor am I heiress to an Eastern European fortune, so I could never afford such a talent.  The apartment in question is a 6,500-square-foot abode with all the amazing details of French design such as perfectly restored moldings, parquet floors and 11-foot-high double doors.  Details that the talented Architect knows how to enhance without letting them take center stage to create the ultra-modernist/minimalist designs he is well known for.  Dirand was also in charge of assembling the art collection.

Cultural Events: Exhibitions and Expositions Around The World, March Edition

If you find yourself complaining about having nothing to do, here are a few suggestion around the world's most popular cities for you to choose from.  Because life is too short to spend it inside.
Paris

Saut Hermès: a night-time gallop at the Grand Palais

Wager won, Paris conquered. In seven years, the Saut Hermès at the Grand Palais has become an unmissable sporting event, which brings the international show-jumping elite together in the heart of the French capital. The celebration has always been stunning and it will be so again on the 17th, 18th and 19th March 2017.

Pad Paris+Art and Design

PAD, pioneering event for Art and Design aficionados and collectors, has been reinventing for the past 20 years the Cabinet d’Amateur and the notion of eclecticism, anticipating the esthetic aspirations of its time. Season after season, it offers an intimate cocoon to those who have made decorative arts and design the core of their collection, driven by passion and heritage.  From March 22-26.

New York

Paul Kasmin Gallery presents Les Lalanne, featuring over 20 recent and historical works from the pioneering French sculptors, Claude and François-Xavier Lalanne. The exhibition will be on view March 16 to April 22, 2017 at 293 Tenth Avenue.

London

"Moving Kate showcases Kate Moss as seen by 30 of the world's most exciting contemporary fashion illustrators and creatives including Unskilled Worker, Jenifer Corker and Nick Knight himself. Featuring footage from SHOWstudio’s exclusive archives, the exhibition includes a range of fashion films, specially-commissioned illustrations, and 3D printed sculptures all capturing Moss's ability to surprise and transform before the camera." Through April 4th.

Explore the work of designer and artist Josef Frank (1885-1967) in the first-ever UK exhibition of his textiles. The Austrian-born architect moved to Sweden in 1933, where he developed his colourful brand of modernism, working with Estrid Ericson on furniture, glassware, lighting and interior design ideas. Together they redefined what is regarded as Swedish Modern. This exhibition in association with Millesgården, Stockholm highlights Frank’s vibrant fabric designs for Svenskt Tenn alongside a number of his previously unknown watercolours.

From her first public appearances in 1981, Diana, Princess of Wales, captivated the world’s attention as a princess, as a trendsetter and as a patron and advocate of charities. Twenty years on from her death, a new exhibition and temporary garden celebrating her life will be opened at Kensington Palace, her home for over 15 years.

Madrid

Bacon: The Question of Drawings

Francis Bacon (Dublin, 1909 - Madrid, 1992) is one of the leading painters of neo-figurative art in post-war Europe. But he was also a gifted draughtsman, even when he denied this aspect of his work in more than one interview. This exhibition shows a selection of Bacon’s drawings, pastels and collages.  Until May 21.

Weekend Comfort: The Outfits You Need This Spring/Summer

You may have seen the very chic minimalist button-down white linen dress wore by a few bloggers in their Instagram accounts.  This dress as well as the rest of Mango's 45-pieces of their Committed collection is worth a buy for two good reasons.  First the collection is the store's first complete environmentally sustainable line.  The entire ethical collection has been made with environmentally friendly organic and recycled cotton, recycled polyester and Tencel, which have been dyed with environmentally friendly inks.  Second, all outfits are full of 2017 trends for Spring and Summer; clean lines, big structured sleeves blouses and minimalist dresses which all come in earthy tones.  From the 45 pieces, 20 are for men.  Yes, sometimes we all win.

A Mordern Parisian Apartment

This modern Parisian apartment was designed by Studio Razavi.  The clean lines throughout the apartment was an attempt to step away from the neo-classical features of the Haussmannian style, hence the use of geometric colorful murals on the entry walls and modern custom furniture.  The theatrical decor is a nod to the owners love for contemporary art and film.
The geometric murals in this entryway can be a great weekend project.
Love how the mixture of modern and old makes this room so chic.
Stunning vignette.
The Barcelona black chair and the modern floating shelves contrast seamlessly with the white elaborate moldings.
I never get tired of using recessed shelves.

A very fun kitchen where the geometric wall murals were carried on giving the chevron floor a fresh touch.
