This week I decided to do something different for my Wednesday Classics series.  Instead of talking about a theme or style, I’m sharing with you images of this beautiful Belgian home which is furnished with classic Danish leather furniture, ethnic textiles and a collection of artifacts from South Africa.  A very classic home on its own way and style.  Enjoy!

Hi and welcome.  Thank you for being here, I hope you enjoy Belle Vivir and decide to hang around…there’s a lot to see and discover.

Here at Belle Vivir, we like all kinds of beautiful things, Chic Comfortable Interiors, exotic and exclusive places, chic fashion, good food and home decor.  Not that a fashionable life is the essence of true self-discovery nor self-fulfillment, but it sure doesn’t help to aspire one.  Therefore at Belle Vivir Interior Design and Lifestyle blog we regularly cover everything that encompasses Living Beautiful hence our name Belle for Beautiful in French and Vivir for Living in Spanish.  Some of our regular features are Interior Design and Home Decor, Travel,  Fashion Shopping Suggestions, Art with a monthly round-up of Cultural Events Around The World and endless inspirations to accessorize your life and living it beautifully.  Belle Vivir also has a feature about Art History under the label of Wednesday Classics.

In 2006 without any specific direction or motto other than of course featuring beautiful things, Belle Vivir was born in an apartment in the island of Manhattan, New York City is the first Interior Design blog in Manhattan, after Design Sponge in Brooklyn and Apartment Therapy.  My main and only intention was to share with whoever would be interested in the beautiful things I came across on a daily basis.

Throughout the almost 11 years of Belle Vivir, many things happened: marriage, a son, back to school and Interior Design clients with exiting projects in the City.

Until my family was presented with a once in a lifetime opportunity of living abroad.  We took the plunge, put my career and blog on hold and lived abroad for five years, 3 years in Brazil and 2 in Germany.  During my time overseas I decided to fully focus on my family, embrace the different cultures and discover new horizons which prompted me to put the blog on pause for those five years only stopping by to sporadically say hello.

Since beauty is what really feeds my soul, while abroad I created a jewelry line, Tyche Jewelry which quickly became recognized worldwide and published in numerous magazine.  The jewelry line started in Brazil made by local artisans until eventually ended up being made in New York City by family-run goldsmiths.  Tyche Jewelry is offered in two different metals, Silver-gold plated and brass-gold plated.  You can pre-order it here.
